What’s not to like? The W204 design – especially the C63 – seems to be a hit in most circles. The wide fenders (shame they forgot to give the rears the same treatment, but this can be remedied), the hood, the quad exhausts , the 19’’ multi spokes and red calipers all make for a sharp looking car. Many people seem to really like white on this car too. Personally I like the darker colors on the C63, but to each his own. This car -- no matter the demographics -- definitely gets more attention than my C32 and C55 ever did…

The C63 would be much better to stay low key (or so I thought).
When I purchased my car, the amount of people (mostly females weirdly enough) that would call me to congratulate me and ask me to please pick them up and take them for a drive, was ridiculous.
I never thought that there were so many people out there that loved or admired the C63.

It's a silent killer. You can't detect ingesting small amounts of oil into the combustion chamber. Considering you probably don't push the car hard every day you're a prime candidate.
- it would give my aftermarket warranty company an excuse to deny claims
- I have the P30/31 package, so the power increase would be zero or small
- I am suspicious that the altered transmission shift behaviors in a tune could be harmful (I have no proof of that - just concerned that the more dramatic shifts COULD be harmful, and the current shifting behavior, up and down, is fine for my needs, and i am seeing complaints on this forum from owners with tunes about their tranny performance)

3. Did you notice that Weistec states it is illegal to use on a pollution controlled street vehicle? So technically, Mb or an aftermarket warranty company could use it as an excuse to deny an engine related warranty claim. I realize it would be a "bogus' denial, but nevertheless they could get away with it.

LOL. That's just a blanked CYA statement because it modifies the PCV system.
2. Gunked up engine. Oil in the combustion chamber also effectively drops the octane which can lead to detonation.
Makes sense. The same problem technically exists on my Harley. For emissions reasons, HD routes the crankcase venting into the engine side of the air cleaner housing. And the Harley engine pumps a relatively large amount of air across its twin cylinder crankcase due to its large displacement and long stroke relative to crankcase volume. It's an "unavoidable" problem once you are forced by emissions laws to "recycle" the oil versus dumping it on the road as your ride.
This CAN over time build up deposits in the cylinder heads. But, most Harley riders never notice. My own Harley is 3 years old, and my ace Harley mechanic told me that yes, he sees some oil in the intake manifold when servicing the air filter during the 5000 and 10,000 mile services, but also says "Don't worry about it".
Mind you, I DO "clean it out" every ride via the "throttle" approach.
And on anything except the in-city drives, I do the same on the C63. "Somebody has to do it".

I've only put about 1300 miles on the car since buying it 1-1/2 months ago, but I have monitored the dipstick, and see no oil consumption at all so far, when measured cold after hours of sitting. I may be just lucky I guess.
On the other hand, I know that oil consumption on Chevy LS series engines manifests if the driver has a manual transmission and routinely runs higher rpm than the automatic would normally run. In the case of the early (2001 and 2002) LS-engined Corvette Z06s which came ONLY with 6-speed manuals, the oil consumption for many of those higher-rpm drivers was in excess of a quart per 1000 miles. Myself, even though I had the 6-speed Z06, I normally kept the engine at 2000 rpm or below when cruising (not accelerating), and had no detectable oil consumption at all.
This might or might not apply to C63s that are run mostly in manual mode, as big cube engines run at higher rpm when the piston rings are relatively "unloaded" (i.e. not really accelerating hard) do tend to consume oil.
The automotive press keeps telling us that today's young people don't appreciate cars the way we do, and that most young people view a car as an "appliance"

I am constantly driving for soccer, skating, school events etc and I can say without a doubt kids are NOT interested in cars the way we are.
My son is, by osmosis, but the kids at his school could not care less.
He is at a school in an area where I have the best. damn. car. there by a fair margin and going to games they fight to be in the minivan cos it has tv screens.
Story to illustrate:
On a track day, we had the first Lambo Huracan in the country (at the time obvs) show up. I had a bunch of stills, and video excerpts on my phone. We have car pool the next day, and Ben asks for the phone to show his buddies. "Look guys, my dad was racing with the new Lamborghini". The boys slowly look over and suddenly brighten up....."IS THAT THE NEW iPHONE 6?!?!?!".
Thats all they wanted to know about. Thats the way it is. Guaranteed.
They are probably looking at you cos you are beaming with that "hey look at my new car" pride that we all have known at one time or another.

This is a bit different than my experience with younger kids (boys). I tutor some kids around grades 5-8, as well as high school kids, and they all know a lot about cars. They ask me what I drive, is it an STI, is it stick, etc.
Girls obviously dont give a crap, but almost every boy does. I think I can definitely jack up my tutoring rate since I'll be the "cool tutor with a c63" and since my travelling expenses will probably double up

Yes, you have to have a healthy attitude to get through life. It's full of surprises, injuries, and insults, but also love, fun, and good relationships, and I am enjoying the ride through it.

I referee soccer on the weekends and when I pull up to the field in my 507 in front of a bunch of teenage boys, I frequently get comments, questions or some oohs and aahs as they hear me approach. Nice to see kids have an interest in cars period - not many do these days.
When I was basically starting high school the M3, C63, RS4 were cars I wanted to own. Now I do
I don't wanna become enemies with the police just quiet yet.
It's really not as bad as people say it is. I run with long-tubes mated to stock cat-back with two sports-cats in the long-tubes. The first few miles were obnoxious but after a couple of hundred it tames itself a lot and continues to deepen/get quieter the more miles you do, to a point.
Town driving is totally stock, no drone at all. Light throttle is just some decent V8 rumbling. Full throttle is, well, loud but next to most of the modified Corvette's, CTS-V's, Mustang's it not louder or less so. Cops won't bother you unless you're full throttle everywhere.
