Today I went to the upholstery shop and started on skiving the edges of the leather pieces in order to have smooth french seems. The upholstery guy is going to start stitching the pieces together tomorrow and next week.

Finished skiving all the leather pieces for the door panels, B-pillar, rear cargo panels. Rear door panels and B-pillar have been stitched together, looking good )
Thank you
The true color of the leather is similar to the picture of the leather on the door panel and B-pillar. Not what it looks like on the stitch closeup.
Picked up all the stitched up letter pieces for the door panels and B-pillars. Diamond stitched pieces to be used for door panel inserts and covers under the dash. What's remaining is the dash and front and rear seats.
Now I need to start gluing the leather on to the door panels and the rest of the interior parts and pieces.
The color of the leather in the last two photos is a bit off due to the fluorescent light in the garage .

I wanted to purchase some new fender liner / wheel arch brackets (part number 4618811314) and saw they they were selling at $22 (each) retail, $15 (each) wholesale. I did some research and found out I can get some laser cut by a local metal fabrication shop. I gave them original bracket and they duplicated the design on CAD and laser cut me 100 pieces in stainless steel. Original ones were regular steel and half of mine were rusted through to the point they were falling apart.
Picked them up yesterday, bent couple to their shape using shop vise and now I have brand new, stainless brackets that will never rust : )
Only 16 brackets are needed for entire vehicle, which means I have 84 pieces left over. Thats 5 sets.
If anyone wants to purchase some from me, I will sell a sets of 16 brackets for $65 + small shipping cost.
**send me private msg with any requests**

haha... trying to make it as fresh as I can ))
I had my original hinges stripped and re-plated in zinc, just like factory.
I might be getting carried away with the details, but since its all taken apart, I don't want to skimp on not using new screws, washers, nuts, bolts or small things... might as well since the little things don't cost that much and I don't want to regret it later for not doing it.
Let me know if you need G63 Chrome brush guard to set this one off! :-) haha

Looks great. That was fast! Now the tedious reconstruction phase. Careful with that beautiful paint. Love that palladium, especially with the interior color you chose.
The car was painted last night and picked everything up this morning . I'm going to let everything sit for a while, get nice and dry. Then I'm going to cover most of the paint with this white plastic protective film they use at a factory on new cars to protect the paint from scarfs and scratching.
Wow this is an amazing thread! Can't imagine the budget for this project, but I can imagine amount of love that goes into it! Waiting for more updates! good luck
