Hey everyone! After a bit of lurking, I've finally been able to take the plunge and officially join the group. Taking delivery of my W205 C450 this weekend, and saying a fond farewell to my very well-loved 2007 Honda Accord EXL-V6 MT sedan. This will be the first car I've ever owned that isn't a MT, but the options out there to stick with it, and other sporty ATs, didn't compare to what i found in the c450.
Found a very decent CPO low mile example with a mish mash of decent options (pano, COMAND, rear parking) - only things it didn't have in the creature comfort dept I wanted going in was leather (though the MB-tex isn't too bad) and it has the stock audio system (I'm seriously down on power compared to my stock honda premium system, and some simple upgrading might be first order of business).
This forum was a huge help as i thought through the decision, and hope to pay it fwd a bit in the years to come.
Hope to see a few of you out and about in Southeastern PA!
Spoonelli, congrats on the purchase. Enjoy in good health. I previously owned a 03 coupe 6 speed and boy did i love that car. It was modded from performance to exterior. Car was just a blast and spacious as well surprisingly. Enjoy the new to you 450 though!
Congrats! I also purchased a C450 a few months ago. Love it! Have also gotten a lot of compliments on it.
I was also looking at other cars such as the S4 and Q50S but in my opinion this beat both hand's down, power and luxury wise.
Post some pics!
thx, and will do ;-)
The only serious contenders for me were the Giulia Ti AWD and the S4. I really wanted the Alfa to win me over, but the lack of the mid-level V6 Veloce in the US killed it for me after a very disappointing test drive. Ended up feeling like a no brainier to go with the C450.
Here we go! Pour a little out for the accord, but I'm definitely not too sad :-)
Couple of things out the gate:
- I'm going back to the dealer to clean up a few things left on the we owe - originally I was going to get the pinstripe removed, but it's starting to grow on me a bit...WDYT?
- Got the wheel and tyre package after the dealership confirmed if I put winter tires on a fresh set of OEM MB 18 rims, they would be covered...anyone want to confirm/share their experience? Know I can always cancel the policy, but figured I'd get it and noodle on it a bit more.
tx - yours looks great as well! BTW, how are the 18s working out for you in winter and what tire do you have on em? I'm trying to get myself sorted.
had an 1hr drive each way this morning to an F1 watch party and it was an absolute blast.
btw, the unanimous consensus from the mrs and my F1 meetup this morning is to delete the pinstripe, and your pic definitely helps put it over the top - the line of the car look great as is

In the Winter, I run the stock AMG 18" AMG wheels and stock A/S run flat tires. The ride is smoother over the bumps, and it's not bad in snowy conditions. I've driven in snow as deep as 6 inches, and the car did pretty good!

I agree, I'd pull off the red pin striping as well.
Congrats on the purchase OP! If you live in a city with potholes, keep the wheel and tire insurance. 8 months into ownership, one of my tires finally gave way. The wheel and tire insurance just paid for itself

tx! I went through about a tire a year on my accord (continental extreme DWSs - were a great match for the car but the sidewalls so much as looked at a pothole and they were toast) so figure all it will take is 2-3 tires plus 1 rim and i'm breakeven over 5 years. going to get a set of OEM 18s and A/S as well for winter... which according to the dealer would be covered - i'm a little nervous i'll have some BS if it came to get a claim on em, but we'll see...
well done on the car, enjoy it!. Throw on the Dinan sport module for 300 bucks for a lice little extra bump in power or wait until they release their fully warranted tune which should be soon and provide even bigger gains
