I have good lunch control in my c43. I never eat inside the car.

Yes, because the car doesn't have lunch control 😂... Only people might have that. I don't... I spill everywhere.

A smart lunch box can always be retrofitted into the car.

A good lunch will result in lower 0-60 times due to less weight.

we don't have a dual clutch trans, so a Launch Control feature is not an option.

Huh, after a good lunch, times will definitely be higher. I wouldn't even try that after a good lunch, since I'd want to sleep it off, the lunch that is...

That's not why you don't have launch control. The c63 doesn't have dual clutch trans either.

Pretty sure the c63 has a dual clutch as well, don't they? Just as the 45's, they call them MCTs (multi clutch transmission).

No. The MCT is a regular automatic with a wet clutch instead of a torque converter. A dual-clutch is a completely different type of transmission.

Oh, ok.

So what's 'MCT' stand for then? 'Moist clutch transmission'?

The name they chose is a bit misleading when used in the same context as a dual-clutch.

The MCT does have multiple clutches, however, they are all connected to the same input shaft. The clutches are used to vary the amount of slip for comfort driving and/or takeoff.

A dual-clutch is more like two separate transmissions with two input shafts and a common output drive.

There's a lot more to it than that but the key takeaway is the MCT is not at all like a dual-clutch transmission, and as far as I know, the only cars that MB makes that use dual-clutch are the *A45 (A/CLA/GLA) and the GT variants.

Enough jokes about the lunch....

But I wonder if others have comments on how to optimize your launch given we don’t have a software piece to solve it?

I have found that the traction control limits your response off the line. As long as pavement is dry - I find going all the way to ESC off, optimizes. Sure you get a touch of wheel spin, but you definitely get going faster than leaving granny mode on. The AWD doesn’t allow for spin for long. At a minimum - “Sport” traction mode helps.

I would'love it if someone sold the software to add traction control. Lots of other hacks are out there for video, and 360 camera automation, so why not launch mode?

With traction control OFF - I put all my weight on the brake and get my RPM's upto about 2200. Slam the gas and release the brake. It's a dirty move but my tires break loose for a quick second and the car flies. I can get my 60 foot below 1.9 with this method

No, a good lunch will result in less fatigue and better overall nutrition for you. I am not a doctor but I play one on TV

Not if it is a liquid lunch like I have twice weekly... I am also not a doctor and definitely don't play one after a liquid lunch.

Just curious, when you guys brake torque, what RPM do you aim for when you launch the car?

I try to get it above 2000RPM but you really have to lean on the brakes.
