Black trim care
I have a 2014 and with all of the extra black trim on the front of the car has anyone come up with a good way of keeping them nice and black? Anyone painted them?

I know it's a little bit "as seen on TV" ish, but I used that "Wipe New" stuff on the black trim of my white MK7 GTI over 2 years ago, including the splash guards, and it all still looks great today. Needs a refresh after 40k miles, which it going to get after I clay and detail the Benz (tomorrow). I also used it on my wife's 2013 Highlander Limited and there too, has held the glossy black of those trim pieces exceptionally well, especially the rubber window trim. It's at 80k miles and just had its second (and likely last) full clay detail with a refresh of the Wipe New about a month ago.
Its going to be a royal PIA to do the black trim on the Benz front, but certainly going to do it with the Wipe New tomorrow.
A few weeks ago while I was doing the brakes in the Benz and had the wheels off, I cleaned, clayed, metal polished, and then wiped the inside of each rim with Wipe New for rims. The accumulated brake dust factor is down by probably 70%, and when you drive through the rain, the insides of the rims come out nearly sparkling. Did the Highlander too, except also got the outside of the rim too, and same results.
i think it's basically a ceramic, but damn sure has worked fabulously for me.

Good to know that stuff works, and it sounds like you keep your rides in tip top shape

Many thanks! I do enjoy a sparkling car and really love it when they operate at tip top condition! Just one of my things I guess.
This is from Sunday after spending the weekend reversing 3 years of use by the previous owner. I strongly suspect the car was never garaged. That's the claybar that had to be churned several times during the process. One coat of polish, one coat of synthetic wax, and one coat of carabue (sp) wax. Rims clayed, polished with blue coral metal polish and cleaner (little blue jar, fantastic stuff, especially for boats too). Then rims coated with the Wipe New for Wheels for ultimate protection. Tires were scrubbed with bleach white tire cleaner and brush, then coated with Wipe New for Tires (first time using it, I'm skeptical).
The black molding was coated with Wipe New for Trim, which is the stuff I used over 2 years ago on the GTI and still looks really good today (which sold me on the stuff). I'm going to do the GTI next and will post up those pics too if interested!

This is the family "booger bucket" after its very first wax detail job a few weeks ago. It's a 13" with now 80k miles. Leased it originally but it is such a perfect family vehicle that we simply couldn't find a replacement that we liked better, so we just decided to buy it. Wipe New on the rims and all along the black trim along the bottom and window trim. Washed it this past weekend for the first time since doing this a month ago, and I swear it shinier now than when I took these photos 3k miles ago in mid July (two trips to beach).
I really have been very impressed with the Wipe New stuff. The Trim isn't a gimmick, not sure about the Tires, and seeing what water does when it hits the rims, am very confident that it is just as good there as it has been for the trim molding. Also used it for the headlights on this one, and completely reversed the haze, now better than new!
