Hello everyone i just registered and is wondering if anyone can help me? I've had my clk for 2 years and started having issues with it turning off and not starting. I figured it was the fuel pump since i couldnt hear the humming from it. I just replaced it yesterday along with the filter and now it won't start. I checked and it is getting fuel off the fuel rail and it is getting spark from both sides. I'm at a loss at what to try now. I just purchased a CPS today since it seems to be a big problem with these cars. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!!!!
I would replace that CPS since it is one of the more common issues with starting, specifically after the car has been warmed up. It is very easy to change out if you read some of the HOW-TO's already posted. After you change this out...30 minutes tops, come back and let us know the results.
Hey thanks a lot i just replaced the CPS but still no luck? i have no idea what to try next
The easiest way to pin the down the issue is,check the basics as replacing items can become expensive in the guessing game. The easiest way is to fit a fuel pressure gauge and check to make sure it has fuel pressure & also check if it has spark,it has to be related to one or the other,if it has both providing the engine doesnt has a compression issue it has to start. If it doesnt start and has spark and fuel & fuel pressure, then you may have to tow it to a technition as it may be a tehnical issue.

2000 clk 430 not starting after fuel pump and filter change.
So i changed out my fuel pump and filter after a super loud howl and it dying out on me on the way home. I did forget to disconnect the battery when doing so. Went to start it after the replacement and it bogged out. And won’t start again. I noticed the bolt in the positive terminal of the pump was a little stripped so it’s kinda loose. Maybe bad connection from that?
What is your fuel pressure at the rail on the engine when the key is in position 2, and the engine is not running? You can use a fuel pressure kit like the photo.
