I love your silver/red, especially with those wheels and that red interior, I've not seen that interior with the steering wheel accents, very nice!

Why did you replace the R231 with a R231?
Prefered the white interior or for other reasons?

The SL with the red interior was totaled. The engine hydro-locked during a flash flood. We only had the car for 3 months or so.

I do like the Porcelain white/black a bit better but the main upgrade was ABC which I missed in the first one...

Porcelain designo white black is a great combination. I m still considering to have it retrofitted in my V221. I' m an idiot that I didn't order it from the factory.

I think my classic designo red is a bit brighter than in your old SL.

I think my classic designo red is a bit brighter than in your old SL.
The Porcelain white/black combo is truly a beauty in the W221 and more so in the W222. I would pair that with the Black Poplar or Carbon fiber (not a fan of the piano black). Looks funky with burl walnut or other brown colors.
The retrofit would be quite pricey I assume.

I also think your red is brighter but I find that the color intensity varies quite a bit on light conditions. But it wasn't bright red. Here are two shots from another day.

Either way, the Edition 1 interior has much more red leather than the red/black nappa one I had (like the door handles and center armrests, and the stitching). The one thing I was surprised on your interior was they MB chose black speaker grills rather than red ones...
