E63s M157 ENGINE NOISE.
Hi guys, i have recently purchased a 2014 E63s AMG and i have noticed the M157 Engine to be quite loud when the bonnet is up. i have done a little reaserach about the M157 especially in the BiTurbo E63 AMG and there is a lot of people including MB SERVICE STAFF saying that they are very loud, just would like forum opinions on my setup as i don't entirely have 100% faith in dealer apprentices giving me advice that could be potentially damaging to my pride and joy,

If you could check that would be appreciated mate. Maybe record it on your phone and see if the sound gets amplified through the phones microphone.

Mine is same and yes the mic is excentuating it initially and then when the phone is moved it sounds less harsh

Stock?
Any recent misfires?
Increased oil consumption before that sound started?
Does it follow rpms?
Also i would drain the oil and analyze for shavings, look if magnetic or not, bronze or aluminum.
Another good move would be to inspect cylinders via borescope from Spark-plug holes, but if you have warranty then none of it really matters.
