M156 intake manifold needed
This may be a shot in the dark, but figured I'd ask here before buying one in unknown condition on the bay.
Long story short, my c63 went into my independent mechanic this morning for a simple PCV replacement. In the process, he removed the intake manifold and found a small hole in the bottom portion, which requires replacement. I was told the top portion with the signature plate is fine.
Wondering if anybody who's gone the supercharger route has their original lying around. I'm really hoping to avoid buying a new one from the dealership, if possible.
I'm located in Houston and will pay a reasonable price + shipping costs.
Thanks guys!

Call Weistec or Eurocharged. They should have some hanging around.
Although, if there’s a “small hole” in the clam shell inside the IM, it might be able to be repaired. It’s a weird thin/brittle alloy, but the R63 guy was able to have his welded up so I don’t see why you couldn’t. Are you able to get a pic of it?

I'l drop into the repair shop tomorrow morning, but I even asked if they could weld it shut and he said it wasn't possible. I'll see if I can get a pic tomorrow.

I called Eurocharged earlier as my office is 2 miles from their shop. Unfortunately they don't have one lying around at the moment. I gave Weistec a call as well but never reached a live salesperson. Appreciate the recommendation.

I think in the US it depends on your state when it comes to ethanol content.
Where was the hole on your IM? Was it the throttle plate?

He's telling me that the damage (ie. pinky nail sized hole) is strictly on the under plate, which MB does not sell separately. I'm guessing that he is referring simply to the outer shell. I inquired about the throttle plates and was told that those are fine. I'm going to have him send me a picture this morning so I can get a better idea of what he is referring to.

Keeping in mind that this aluminum is thin, TIG welding is the best way to go. I would take the under plate to a machine shop, and have them weld it.

Yeah I think that most would say that because it’s a very thin magnesium/aluminum alloy and incredibly difficult to work with. The R63 guy also lives in TX and found a specialty welder that could do it, and it came out great. I don’t have the thread handy but do a search on this forum and you should find it, with links to the original on GrassrootsMotorsports where you’ll find the contact info for the welder.

I have no idea! There was no CEL, zero idle problems, and the car drove just fine. Took it in to fix the issue of my dipstick popping up and seeping oil from the tube. While replacing the PCV valve and breather tube this was discovered to my shock.

I bet ,if you take that cover off, your throttle body plate is in bad shape as well. Looks like you are getting a lot of water in through your intake snorkels and it has sat on the throttle plate and corroded a hole through it. Then the water went into the bottom cover and rotted it as well. Driving in heavy rains is likely the cause.

Thanks for the input. Living in Houston and going through the Hurricane Harvey floods, I'm sure this was a contributing factor that manifested over time. I'll have my indy double check that the throttle plates are not rotted out as well.

$100 cheap says needs repair but not what, maybe would have the parts you need.
In germany but basically 600 shipped which is a great price https://www.ebay.com/itm/Intake-mani....c100005.m1851

Another option if your corrosion is not too severe is QuickSteel Xtreme Heat. It is an epoxy that starts out like clay then turns hard. It is designed for use on high temp areas up to 500 F and bonds well to Aluminum. I also recommended painting these pieces with some engine enamel to seal the part and prevent further corrosion.
