Hi,

2019 E450 4Matic. Radio was working fine. Stopped the car, turned the car off and left the car for about 3 minutes. Came back and started the car and the panel says "Tuner Unavailable"

What would cause this and how can I fix it?

Try rebooting COMAND by turning it off then restarting it. The button is on the console.

Turned car off....turned COMAND off....no luck

Did you turn off COMAND using its power button. Turning off the car will not reboot COMAND.

Hold power button in for 5-10 seconds.

Weird....I got in the car and started it hoping to do the 10-sec reboot. Radio worked fine.....go figure.

Could it have been updating software?

I suppose so but nothing in the software updates section of Mercedes Me.

I got a Nav update done on my S550 and the bluetooth and media did not work for an hour or so, so weird things can happen after updates. With the E450 it's auto updates over the air so maybe that was it.

I already tried it twice. I also tried removing the main battery terminal for five minutes. I also rest the entire car settings. I guess I have no choice but to take it to the dealer.

I have a new to me 2019 AMG C63S. It says Tuner unavailable. I am out of warranty obviously and am not about to pay a dealer several hundred dollars to fix this, so I have been just using my Sirius theough bluetooth.
I called and was told I'd need connect me subscription (or whatever it's called) for $13/month to be able to use the Sirius receiver??

Unfortunately no. It went to worst now. There was another update. I thought maybe this would fix it. But it has been two days and the panel is stuck in "software download". I am disappointed. Nothing works as the panel is all black now. Are you having trouble with Sirrus radio only? if yes then paying them will work. If AM, FM, and Sirrus all three are out then NO it will not work even if you pay (I found this out by paying).
