I just got out of the dealer, they are charging $1200 plus for replacing a crankcase vent valve. There are few Youtube how to replace for other models.
Has anybody tried this before for GLC300 4matics?
I had owned 4 cars before, have never had to replace and engine problems at 73K miles.
Very disappointed....

It's a difficult job and a poor design which runs up underneath the engine mount bracket. This isn't a Honda or Toyota. Expect to pay a couple thousand dollars each year for repairs and maintenance.

Thanks for your quick reply. That is why resale value is low compared to other cars.

I just picked up mine from dealer, paid $1800 for this repair. Less than 40 miles later tripped another service engine soon, paid another $504. This after I talked them out of charging me for the diagnostics charges on both visits. My AUL Extended Warranty was worthless... MB should make this a recall. Purchased this 2017 GLC300 September 2020 with 22k miles on it. Currently only has 35k miles. Never had such issues with my previous Lexus, Porsche and Infinity vehicles.
First and LAST MB I will own.

Almost exactly my set up and experience. Except haven’t sent it back for repairs yet. $2000 cad for the part and god knows how much for the labor. I’m thinking of buying the OEM and finding a decent mechanic to fix it.

Referring a good mechanic in Toronto would be much appreciated 😊

MB extended warranty for PVC valve and who paid for this work getting refunds. new warranty 15 years or 150K miles.
If you paid for this service ask for refund if not, take to a dealer for warranty work

My 2010 W204 is a PZEV and had the extended 15yr/150,000 miles warranty because I live in MA. Bluetec Diesel engine is 7yr/70,000 miles. Warranty info is in the Service and warranty Information booklet in with the Operators Manual in the glove box. Extended warranty only applies to CA, ME, MA, VT, CT, RI, NJ, OR, PA, WA and NY.
