Right valve cover

Aloha guys. Have question regarding Passenger/Right side valve cover. My cover has a part # of 112-016-03-05. Does the cover part # 112-016-06-05 fit on my car? It does look identical but maybe there's a small difference, different enough that cover won't go along the gasket surface? If it's the same, I have plenty of choices so I just want to make sure.

Reason for the replacement cover is, I had a small leak coming from right side breather/PCV cover and was working to fix the leak, I found that the nipple for the hose is broken. Which mean I have no idea where the hose connect to once it's fixed, but I just want the top cover for now. Once it's fixed, I have plenty of time to find where the hose connect to. So if the valve cover or the top cover is the same, I want to buy from Evilbay unless member here have some spare they want to sell.

Does anyone know if there's any difference with 03-05 cover and 06-05 cover? Evilbay states 06-05 fit from 98-03, some say fit up to 05. Just want to make sure.

You need access to MB EPC for the correct answer. Surely there must be someone at a dealer who can correctly answer your question-----all others are sausage ***** responses

Thanks Plutoe. But dealer here is a joke. Don't ask me how I know this. But then again, worth a shot. I'll try stop by, probably after New Year.

If you're lucky, you may find a large local public library, academic library, or a auto wrecking yard will have access to the HOLLANDER INTERCHANGE MANUAL which should show parts sharing compatibility. I have to drive about 20 miles to find it at a library near me. Over the past several years I've been visiting and taking photos of the pages with my smartphone for w210 items but it's a ton of work since (in this case) it's about 25 lbs of huge binders.

The electronic parts catalog will show all Mercedes vehicles that used that part number. Search by part number, not VIN. Use the VIN search to find the part number and superceding part numbers first, then search by part number to find the models.

Thanks both of you, for the info. Unfortunately, we have no good salvage/junk yard here. I have visited them often while ago as my other car is 86' Monte Carlo SS (called GM G-body and have plenty of interchangeable parts) but every time I asked a question or above book, they all gave me this funny look. Long ago, there was one, and only one really good junk yard about 30 miles from my place, but they closed like 20+ years ago. Since them, junk yard here is a joke.

I will try electronic parts catalog and see what I can find.

Wish me luck guys.

Update: valve cover.

Just in case if anybody is wondering, the right valve cover part #112-016-03-05 and 112-016-06-05 interchange. They are same cover. Even the breather cover interchanges. I only needed the breather cover but just in case the breather don't interchange, I was going to use the whole cover. Reason for me using the original cover is the one I bought is just that dirty. At least dirtier than my original. And for some funky reason, previous owner or at least whomever that worked on the engine, decided to use some silicone on valve cover gasket and I have dried up silicone all over on the gasket mounting surface/groove. Anyway, if anybody looking for a right cover, now we have some option.

I can't say anything about the left cover. So if anybody have any information, it's one of those nice to know info. I only needed a right one, so I'm not willing to take chance or spend money on something I don't need.
