A trick question? Nobody can read your mind! You don’t even say where is located or what year. Well I’ll say it’s 2013 onward. What is that terminal right above the wire with NO wire ? Look around

That's in the back trunk, spare tire area - that is the Aux battery "above" the hand.

Can you explain what got you to this point?
Is there an issue you're investigating?
Why is the right cover removed?
Were the unconnected wires stuffed in that right compartment?

I know where it is but nobody else does. And 2012 and before had no auxiliary battery. Can you see that wire terminal with wire broken off?? I think if he looks he will see where the other end goes.

Are you referring to the terminal that I have circled in Blue in the image below??

If Yes, that's a ground, and I'm fairly confident that you can't see the actual brown wire itself, because it's stuffed under the wire loom. But a slight possibility that my guess is rwong.

I say it's best at this point to wait for the OP to clarify things.

I think the terminal that Mmr1 is talking about is a ground lug. Clearly, that's not where those three small wires originated. Or maybe I missed something else in the photo...

Someone with the same vehicle could probably ID this in a heartbeat (well, a heartbeat after pulling the tool tray out of the way). ;-)

And yeah, it's gotta be a 2013 or newer vehicle.

I'm pretty sure that goes to the power outlet.

I bought my car recently from a used lot and a tracker was wired to that. I guess it's for people who stop making payments.. I didn't see what they did when they removed it, that's what I was left with after going home and looking. The thing is, shortly after I left I got the auxiliary battery malfunction notification. I never had that pop up before them removing the tracker. That terminal that is being mentioned looks to be a ground, the wire is just hidden. I really appreciate all the replies. Vehicle is a 2013 GLK350.

Thanks for the clarification - helps to put things into perspective.

First thing I'd do, until I find out where those wires go, is to cap off each, or put electrical tape (if no caps) on any exposed wires.

You're getting the Aux Malfunction for one of two reasons. The battery really is going bad ...

Or those wires have something to do with the completion of a related circuit.

I recently got the Aux Malf on our 2014 GLK Base, because the battery was declining. I put a trickle charger on it, and it was good for about a week. I eventually bought a new battery about a month later.

Anyway, I have an appt at the VA clinic Wed morn, and when I get back (before noon), I'll check our GLK for any wiring clues. It's possible your wires were originally in a wire loom, since they tapped into those particular wires. I'll only look for similar wires as in your photo that are not in a wire loom 👍

Looks like someone has really hacked your car in addition to the wires you show.

Okay, the first thing I did was to open the side compartment (1st photo), so we can get oriented where we think the BIG Mystery is (arrow).

The second photo is a close-up - use the multi ground strap (in pink) as a reference to the ACTUAL location of the wires in question (in blue). So those (I'm hoping I found the correct Mystery) two wires should end at a 7.5 amp fuse ... of which , there is NO EVIDENCE of in your photo.

The wire loom marked in Yellow is separate and distinct from the wire loom (orange) that houses the TWO Mystery wires.

EDIT: I added a 3rd photo, that shows the 2 wire loom to fuse much better👍

@hrbnz

This is about a wire, not an Aux battery.
