Head Gasket Replacement Cost

Anyone have a clue what the dealership charges to replace the head gasket on the passenger side of my 2013 S550? Only way they can tell me is if I bring the car in as if they've never did the job before.

Sorry man can't help you with the question but how did you manage to blow the head gasket?

I wouldn't say I blew anything, those gaskets don't last forever and oil is starting to leak out of it. Heres a screenshot of a video someone made that shows the same problem and its actually the same exact engine from a 2013 S550. You can see the oil buildup in the red circle on picture. My car actually runs fine but eventually that gasket will need replacing. I saw it on mine with a borescope as I stuck it down around the area and it does show oil seeping at the gasket.

I think its the gasket material where I drew the red line thats allowing oil seepage.

My title is not correct as I discovered its called a Valve Cover gasket. I was going to edit the title of the post but there's no edit button. So my question is: I'm wondering what a Mercedes dealer charges to reseal the valve cover on one side?

lots of cost, and a big risk of snapping the cam cover - wipe it off and don't worry about it

heat gun till the engine melts whilst and jacking the car up on the cover - its a recipe for gets lucky / trashes the engine

Yes now it is more like it lol
When I purchased my car that was the first thing that I did even mine weren't leaking just yet. More of a seep. Mercedes wanted $1400 but that was for both sides. I ended up having one of my good friend that owns a shop. Did the valve covers, motor mounts, transmission mount all for $1400. So just shop around and find a decent shop.

I took another look with my light and borescope and it seems as though its seeping oil from where the fuel injectors enter the valve cover. It only looks like its doing it on the front two on the passenger side. So now I need more insight on what that would cost to replace those two injectors. Is it an easy DIY project for someone that does not have the computer stuff the dealer uses?

Don't replace the injectors, they are not leaking, it's probably the O-gasket surrounding the injector that's leaking.
To replace that, you'd still need to lift the valve cover so replacing the entire gasket is recommended.
Wait the M278 uses sealant instead of a gasket?

Please help me to understand something, am I correct in thinking that the injectors have an Oring at the top where they penetrate the valve cover? That's is where I see oil seepage along with a few drops that pooled on top of the valve cover in that area.

No. Normally there would be a round gasket there but on your m278 it is a sealant (RTV).
