What oil is everyone using for the BluTec Diesel ?
I have recently purchased a 2016 GL350 with the Blutec diesel. I know MB recommends Mobile1 for the oil. But does it actually meet specifications? Namely the CK4 class, or the ACEA C5 rating? Ive read it does NOT.
What's everyone been using?

229.52 is the spec but if you'll do a bit of searching you'll discover why I'm about to say:
"oh great. Another oil thread."
Liquid Moly is a fine choice. Mobil 1 ESP European car formula meets the standard too. There are plenty others.

I use Mobil 1 ESP that meets the 229.52 spec. But I change it every 5000 miles, and the inside looks practically new.

What specs does your owner's manual call for? I have not found a CK-4 oil available in the US that meets anything higher than 228.51, which is OK for my 2014. I found these two:
Chevron Delo XLE 15w-40, 10W-30
Shell Rotella 550046251 T6 Full Synthetic Multi-Vehicle 5W-30

I've used the Motul 8100 X-Clean EFE for about the last 100k in ours. 7k OCIs. Haven't seen it myself but the independent shop that did the last timing chain said it was looking fine inside at 140k. It now has 170k.

Up to 120k km I used Mobil 1 ESP 0W30. After that I started having a hard time finding it so I switched to Pennzoil EURO LX 0W30. Now sitting at 312 000km and runs flawlessly. I change the oil every 10k km (around 6-7k miles).

M1 has tendency to generate high iron, so I choose Motul, or Valvoline with 229.52 approval.
Lately 5-40 weight oils come on the market, but I've been using 30 weight for years and I often drive in 120F climate.
