New GT
How do I post pics (10-12)? Wrote a comment and chose camera (iPhone 13) pics but then what to do?
Compared to SL, this is more luxe, more spacious, easier in/out, larger trunk. More studdly appearance. No contest, am definitely ordering one.

I saw this one at Fletcher Jones in Newport Beach and thought it was quite stunning. Much better looking than the convertible, in my opinion.

The proportions are good, the lights are good.

Tah dah! Pictures. This was driven by factory rep showing to dealers.

The AMG GT looks nice but:
If you want a Coupe, the AMG GT it perfect. I'd take the AMG GT63 E Performance though. It weights 200 kg more but performance is amazing and you cannot feel the extra weight.
- it is no convertible (I got the SL63 because I wanted a convertible)
- it weights the same compared to the SL, believe it or not, weight is identical
- it accelerates faster from 0-100 kph due to an improved launch control/gearbox setup but 100 to 200 kph time is identical (I tried).
- it feels a bit more direct/planted due to changed chassis software setup but chassis is basically the same
- steering is a bit more direct/light in Race mode but difference is barely noticeable

I won't lie, I have considered swapping the SL for a GT, but it might not make much sense . . . Tax alone would be brutal
I do REALLY like the body shape of the GT, but having the flexibility of a convertible and the identical interior tells me that I should just be happy with what I have
Lots of hate for the SL63, but I have been loving it - I would take a bath on a trade-in, so I need to put these thoughts away, HaHa

I don’t know why for sure, but I recoil at the idea of a lift back being considered part of a performance package. I associate the lift back with convenience packages, for grocery getters, and baby haulers.
The first car I ever bought was a Toyota Corolla hatchback. It was sporty enough, but by no means high performance. Maybe that has a lotto do with why I don’t consider the hatchback relating to a performance car.
