I just finished re-sealing the front covers on my 2014 E550 and I am trying to button it up. Does anyone know the torque specs on the turbo inlet and output band clamps? Are they all the same spec? Seems like the inlet side clamp on the turbos may be different since it has to compress metal and rubber boot onto the turbo flange.

I could look it up, but for now I would say "tight".
The inlet is less critical since it is under suction/vacuum. It's the outlet hose that is under pressure and will blow off if not tight enough. I would think the torque spec for something like that is less important than the torque spec for the bolts on the cover plates.
Thx. The torque spec for the cover bolts can be found rather easily on this forum or other internet references.
Everyone's definition of tight is different. Since the pressure side is buried under the intake side and the intake side of turbo is PITA to remove/install I would rather get them set properly without guesswork.
Argh.... I don't know the answer to that. I tried to pull the data sheet with my VIN. Is this helpful? Thank you again for looking into this.

BREEZE Power-Seal and AeroSeal Worm Drive Hose Clamps
These are found in sizes from 7/16" to 7" in diameter. The correct torque is 30-45 in. lbs. for the stainless screw versions and 27-35 in. lbs. for the carbon screw versions.
30 inch lbs = 2.38 Nm
45 inch lbs = 5 nm.
5Nm is very mild torque, very very mild.
I tightened my similar rubber boot for my M276.8 Turbo , its aftercooler more then 5Nm I am sure ( I did not torque meter it ), I just use my own judgement,
but I on purpose use the smallest and shortest 1/4" ratchet so that it will deliver least power.
Thank you very much for the detailed investigation and links. Yes the connections/claps look like what you posted. They do not have the little rubber stoppers that I could tell. They do look like stainless since they are unblemished after 10yrs so I will go with the torque range of 30-45 in. lbs.

The V-Bands really aren't hose clamps, per se. I'm trying to remember where I've used them before. Either on an exhaust or turbo. They do require a flange on the pipes you are connecting.
