W213 AMG Drive Unit Steering Wheel buttons
2021 E63s, battery died last week, had a trickle charger on it over the weekend and everything works except for the AMG drive unit steering wheel buttons, they are completely off. Wondering if there is anything I can try doing before taking it back into the dealer to see if it will resolve. The buttons worked fine prior to the battery dying. No other weird electrical issues occurring.

Did you ever find a resolution? My battery just died on my.2021 e63s and both drive buttons died as well.

Try a negative battery terminal pull overnight, can't hurt and at worst you'll still be going back to dealer for resolution; they'll reset with STAR etc

2021 AMG E63s Wagon
Software Refresh?
My battery was drained last year when 2021 AMG Wagon was PPF and Ceramic Coated. I should have given detail shop my battery tender in hindsight. Got notifications on my App during their installation about low battery warning. Next day when picked up AMG Wagon I lost AMG Content on instrumentation...had to drive to Service Department in ABQ NM 225-miles away so they could reload the Software. The closer ELP Texas dealership are clueless since they use VW technicians.
Currently in Reston, VA in my 2024 Maverick 2.0T AWD...yesterday checked out high end timepieces at Tyson Corners...can't make up my mind between the clean looking face of the Panerai Luminor Marina, craftsmanship of Omega Sea master Professional Master Chronometer, or Rolex GMT-Master II Oyster Perpetual Date. Gotta payoff SIG Fury MCX Spear first at GA Residence. Watches don't need Software Refreshing...

Thanks for the meaningful reply man. I'll enjoy driving the car to see if it updates. If not, try the negative pull, then shop.

After driving it for about 5 - 30 mile trips, the AMG Drive unit controls reset and have started working again with all functionality. Thanks for the tips everyone!
