its easier than that....
you can look at the dasboard display menu options to turn this off !

But I think it says the level of intervention.
Is there a setting to turn it off?

Maybe I just haven't seen it.

I have this feature on my E550 and I can turn it off. I have not checked my S550 but I would think you can do the same.

When I went into the menu, I guess I didn't go in far enough.
