Hi.
Still very new to these monsters but my roof has been playing up lately always saying the same issue with the diags as pictured below. It now won't fold down at all, just that really annoying visit workshop ding. I've cleared codes numerous times and it only worked once.
The flaps are all engaging the switches, though one is now a bit loose because ham fisted idiot me pulled a bit on it and it click and dropped so I've likely broken a tooth on the cog(as I say idiot) , not enough to disengage the switch though. Wiring looks OK to the switch block.
Do these microswitchs just give up or break and can they be replaced separately as I fear a good chunk of money if I have to take to a garage.
Before I fixed mine I had multiple times with it sticking 1/2 up or down. I used a stiff yardstick to reach in and engage the flap and press it closed while pushing the button. Later, duct tape worked to hold it down and functioning. The $70 gear-y piece fixed them.
Fix the flap, it needs to be tight to the trunk lid. You might have just jumped a tooth. If you don't have the newer cover plates for the rack gear you need to install those and correct the flap position.
On the attached are parts 100 and 110 the flap switches? I take it this is a complete unit with both switches in? Is it not possible to just replace the micro switches?
Probably a 5% chance that the switch is your problem. Buy the flap repair kit - new rack gear covers that don't bend, install it, adjust your flaps. As far as the original question, I think you can release the switches from that housing, you just can't buy them separate.

Hi Thanks.
It has had the upgrade done previously. All switches are engaged correctly. I think I need to take the whole unit off and see if any switches are sticky, though looks and operate fine on the car. I only thought it was these as the diags said it was a switch issue
The switches require the flap to be tight against the trunk lid. Just touching the lever doesn't mean anything, you have to actually depress the switch. You are getting the code because with the roof closed, the flaps should be shown as folded in. If you did damage one of the gears, you will need to replace it. Pull the cover and see what you have.
