WILL A RADIO OF A 2006 FITS IN A 2004??
Gentlemen, want to find out if the command unit connectors from a 2006 will be compatible with the connectors in a 2004.
Thanks for sharing your infinite knowledge...!

Very unlikely, as 2004/2005 was approximate time when system changed from D2B to MOST.
Way to tell is if the head unit fits into the console trim (trim goes all around head-unit), or head unit sits above the console trim (head-unit and surround is all black plastic finish)

gOrsq, thanks for the reply...! My radio/command unit is the old style with the trim piece around it. for sure a DB2...I am thinking on replacing it with a 9" touch screen unit, but want to make sure I will get the right unit and connectors that could connect with the original wires and has fiber optic output to connect with the original amplifier..! By any chance will you have in your library a schematic for that "old" command unit?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Not sure if this is correct to your car.
I dont have a "library"
.
I have WIS/ASRA and happy to share documents to anyone who doesnt have it.
You wont find a replacement head unit with D2B fibre, but instead will find a D2B converter, which converts the line out from head unit to D2B to go to your amplifier.

Thank you my far away friend..!
By viewing these documents I can tell about the complexity of the system..! I'll see what is possible to by-pass with a new Android radio!
