Dashcam for 2012 E550 Coupe - best places to hardwire it?
I am putting a Vantrue dashcam in my 2012 E550 Coupe. I'd prefer to hardwire it, but would like to know the best place to do that to that includes a grounding location, a positive battery connection and one that turns on with the car (accessory). Ideally, all three would be in close proximity and near the front of the car.

Use the 12v outlet on the glovebox. Easiest solution if the only need you have is On on engine start.
Does the glovebox have a 12v outlet in a 2012 E550 Coupe??
Just got this car a week ago, and the only 12v outlets in the cabin I've noticed are the one in the ashtray area and the one on the center console for the back seat.
It should be on the right hand side but yours does not have it. I see on the picture there is a cover on the hole on the right side. You would need to find another way. There is a fuse box on the left side of the dashboard besides the light switch. You might find the accessory fuse there. Also you can connect to the rain sensor on the windshield as well but that has "always on" power.
While replacing my cabin air filter today, I decided to see what I could do for hard-wiring near the glove box. There are a couple sets of cables, but I don't know what they are for. Any idea what the red and brown set is for? How about the orange bundle?
