Replace pads on 2012 E550 Coupe... I'm confused (pics)

I've done plenty of brake jobs on my other cars, but this car is new to me - got it a few weeks ago and the brakes seem good, but squeal when braking going slowly.

Anyway, all the youtube videos I searched for the E550, or A207 - none of them have this style brakes on the front, unless I'm missing something.

Any instructions on how to change the pads out? Wheel off, no problem. Got the clip off and the logo cover thing (pic below), but not sure next steps for these. Do I need to remove the calipers? If so, it seems I may need a hex wrench of a certain size - pretty large.

Do I use the recessed ones that had the round plastic cover on them to remove the calipers? What's the size of hex bit I will need? Torque spec's?

Or is there a way to remove the pads without removing the caliper?

If you look at the style of pad there's a snap system on the back of it you need to take the caliper off and the new pads snap in

So I *do* need to take the calipers off? If so, what are the instructions for that on this brake set?

Also, why are my front brakes different that every other E550 A207 out there?

they had different brake options I guess.

You need WIS instructions based on VIN.

What are those hex bolts by the plastic cap you took off for? TOp and bottom? What are those holding on? my guess the caliper mounting bracket

My guess is behind the plastic caps are the glide pins which if you take out would llow calipers to come off - IS MY GUESS based on pics.

When I changed my rotors on my 2012 coupe I had to remove these 2 bolts.

They have that crazy MB green lock tite on them and are a pain to get leverage on. The pre-facelift cars use the same rotor as the 204 C63 but a different caliper (I've never seen the caliper on another car). They changed it on the newer 207s, more than likely because the older brakes were having warping issues. I ended up buying 2 piece rotors because I got sick of changing them every year.

For those interested or that have the same question, all I had to do to change the pads was remove the plastic caps in the pics, use a 9mm hex wrench to loosen the bolts (2 per caliper) and it comes right off. The circled bolts would only be to remove the entire brake assembly, which is not needed for just replacing pads.
