Yes, i understand what the part catalog pic shows. I'm not sure where this badge is located on the grill of a W211. Or is it actually on the hood instead of the spring loaded 3-point Star?

We are confused because the W-211 AMG did not have a star in the grill. There is no attachment of that star badge. A badge like that is either for the hood (and that’s not how the e55 model attached) Or the trunk which are usually a press in like this. Imo, this looks like a trunk badge but also not for this model as it was a hollow open star.

perhaps you can take a picture of your car and where you think it goes, or let us know why you bought this or if you current grill had one of these.

The general upgrade for these models was to take the traditional standing star of the hood and add a flat badge, which took modification.

My bad. The car has an E63 conversion which is a different grill. I apologize for the confusion.

Ok, if this is the tiny star at the top of the grill, pictures online show that it likely just slides into plastic bushings like shown above. Sorry I can’t personally be of more help but hopefully this helps somebody else answer you well.
