Is blowby normal ?

I just wonder if blowby test failed is normal with mercedes diesel car? I am worry it creates pressure and impact to seals.

Which year and model MB do you refer to? Are you posting in the correct section?

What exactly is your issue? Do you have CEL illuminated? Did you fail a statutory emissions test? Please pull back the curtain.

i am chasing the issue of burning 1l oil every 2000km and blacksoot in exhausted pipe(no smoke at all).

For the record, the engine is an OM656 D29T SCR 3.0 inline-6 diesel.

Read codes. What does it tell you?

What does the manual say about oil consumption?

We are not allowed to own the diesel version of the GLE in the US. The dealership will have standards for oil usage. Should be in your owners manual too. You might be surprised at how liberal that standard is. For example, the US GLE gasoline 450 can use up to .8 L per 1000 KM and still be considered within design limits. They can do a test to determine if the engine is burning excessive oil.
