My 2022 C-class coupe has only 16,100 miles. I keep getting the B1 service message on the dash. I realize it is based on elapsed time and not mileage. I bought the car used and really don't know the service history. Have only been to a dealer to have the Mercedes Me moved over to my name. The dealer just told me it would be just under $1,000 for the service. Does this sound accurate? I prefer having the dealer service my cars, although neither are covered under warranty anymore. I can easily change the engine air filter and the under-the-hood cabin filter. (probably the behind the glovebox one also if needed) Will the dealer do a "piecemeal" service if the customer takes on a few of these service items? By the way, I had damage to the front bumper cover, which I replaced, but that was enough to "total" the car. That is why it is not covered under warranty. I do like to have some "dealer service history/paperwork" in case I ever sold the car. Thanks for your thoughts.

I would not pay that for some oil change, air filter change and brake fluid change and the normal inspection.
My dealer used to charge only $300 but that has been a while I would say anything over $500 is a ripoff.
IF car is still under warranty they never find anything as the manufactures tend to not like it when the dealerships FIND warranty work without a complaint from owner.

But once your car is out of warranty they will find all kinds of bogus crap wrong and if you do not repair Armageddon is gonna happen next week.

What is Service B?

With the first visit at approximately 20,000 miles or 1 year after the previous service, and then approximately every 20,000 miles or 2 years after that — Service B includes:

• Mercedes-Benz motor oil replacement
• Oil filter replacement
• Fluid level checks and corrections
• Tire inflation check and correction
• Cabin dust/combination filter replacement
• Brake component inspection
• Brake fluid exchange
• Reset maintenance counter

Really $1000 for that?
what do they charge for A?
Ask them what they will do for this B service.

Is this B1 an A or B service in both cases its a rip off 1000 usd? + the car is not under warranty
if you think about it anyone mechanic can do these A and B services some people do it themselves. What i recommend is ro seek other quotation but only go for oem parts. I do mine at the dealership but it never cost me more then 400 450 usd days for B. I get a 10% loyalty discount because I am a loyal customer. If I think about it there is only one dealer in the whole country Lebanon so I am not sure what other options do I have but to be loyal 😊

I just did this service with my independent mech, just over $400 Canadian. Dealership is a ripoff

That is cheap, I paid almost 600+Hst CAD just for A service back in 2023 at a dealership because I got lazy to do my own that time. 400 CAD is nothing for B service.

Yep, I have a great independent mechanic. He looks after my old SAAB 93 Viggen as well, great value and guidance
