How Much Did You Pay for B1 Service?
My 2022 C-class coupe has only 16,100 miles. I keep getting the B1 service message on the dash. I realize it is based on elapsed time and not mileage. I bought the car used and really don't know the service history. Have only been to a dealer to have the Mercedes Me moved over to my name. The dealer just told me it would be just under $1,000 for the service. Does this sound accurate? I prefer having the dealer service my cars, although neither are covered under warranty anymore. I can easily change the engine air filter and the under-the-hood cabin filter. (probably the behind the glovebox one also if needed) Will the dealer do a "piecemeal" service if the customer takes on a few of these service items? By the way, I had damage to the front bumper cover, which I replaced, but that was enough to "total" the car. That is why it is not covered under warranty. I do like to have some "dealer service history/paperwork" in case I ever sold the car. Thanks for your thoughts.

I would not pay that for some oil change, air filter change and brake fluid change and the normal inspection.
My dealer used to charge only $300 but that has been a while I would say anything over $500 is a ripoff.
IF car is still under warranty they never find anything as the manufactures tend to not like it when the dealerships FIND warranty work without a complaint from owner.
But once your car is out of warranty they will find all kinds of bogus crap wrong and if you do not repair Armageddon is gonna happen next week.

Really $1000 for that?
what do they charge for A?
Ask them what they will do for this B service.

What is Service B?
With the first visit at approximately 20,000 miles or 1 year after the previous service, and then approximately every 20,000 miles or 2 years after that — Service B includes:- Mercedes-Benz motor oil replacement
- Oil filter replacement
- Fluid level checks and corrections
- Tire inflation check and correction
- Cabin dust/combination filter replacement
- Brake component inspection
- Brake fluid exchange
- Reset maintenance counter

Is this B1 an A or B service in both cases its a rip off 1000 usd? + the car is not under warranty
if you think about it anyone mechanic can do these A and B services some people do it themselves. What i recommend is ro seek other quotation but only go for oem parts. I do mine at the dealership but it never cost me more then 400 450 usd days for B. I get a 10% loyalty discount because I am a loyal customer. If I think about it there is only one dealer in the whole country Lebanon so I am not sure what other options do I have but to be loyal 😊

Thank you for the insights. As I mentioned, this car is not under warranty. It had damage to the front bumper cover and a few plastic components in the front bumper, so it was "totaled." I bought it salvage, although it wasn't cheap. There was no damage to the headlight or radiator, and just a couple of bent brackets also. When I run my OBD scanner, it checks out perfect. Oil was full when I bought it. Added some MB coolant. I have been working on cars for more than 50 years. I can do all the services of the B1 service, including oil/filter/replacing brake fluid/replacing the under-dash and under-hood cabin filters, replacing the engine air filter as an extra, other fluids are topped up. But, since I do not own a lift, I wanted an official dealer service on the car, along with a thorough inspection, before taking it on any long trips, considering its history. The car doesn't have so much as a door ding and suspension on the side that had the front bumper damage looks good to me. Had a new set of P-Zeros put on it last week. I think the rear bumper had a slow-speed bump as well, since the portion of the rear lights on the trunk don't perfectly line up with the the portion in the rear quarters. Trunk has a small amount of overlap, so maybe rear impact absorber was compressed. Had just wanted to have a dealer look at it and the B1 service is overdue time-wise. Just had my Volvo into the dealer and so that one was $400+. Just wondered if anyone else had taken a late model C-class in for its first B service.

You are correct........those are the items that comprise the B1 service on my car. With tax, a little over $1,000. Service writer pointed out that they do an 140-point inspection. I guess that means a tech walks under the car on the lift, points a flashlight up towards the splash shields, and notes the condition.

UPDATE: I checked with some other dealers who are farther away. One quoted me $695 for the same services....air filter/ dust filter/ cabin filter/ replace brake fluid/ oil and filter/ comprehensive inspection/ reset ,maintenance indicator. Asked them about a couple of other issue while I was at the dealer since my service writer was a former MB tech for several years. (trunk does not seat down all the way...I thought it was the pull-down motor, guy thought it might be bent striker plate, front bumper cover does not align with hood on one side.........asked them if they could should me an adjustment screw....no luck there)
