GT/C192/R192: Exhaust Options

Actually not super expensive for RT...
Also some research has yielded that the valves even in Sport Plus or beyond are not fully open at lower RPM's... I might get a valve controller to have the full aggression in even lower rpms.
No such thing as too much - of a good thing

I found this too
The RT one is the rear only section and fits both the SL and GT (C192) so this may work as well

These guys are in the Chicago area not far from me, I will call them.
I also came across this, first I had seen Downpipes available from someone for this car:
Redstar Mercedes Downpipes

I dont even want to take a chance with the HFC's.
Let me know what RT says about the cans. They did email me a few weeks back "stating" that it will be louder but that I should get the valve controller too since the flaps are not open at lower rpms.

I love this car, but if definitely needs some more exhaust noise.
I test drove a previous generation GT-R and almost bought that, it was amazing! But it wouldn't have been as good of a daily, it lacked a Heated Steering Wheel and AWD, both nice to have for Chicago Winters, and also the tech on the screens was pretty dated. I really like the features and the tech in this new one, for a daily driver.
But the exhaust sounds on the GT-R were terrific, I need more sounds like that in my GT 55!

Ill probably start with my tech reviewing the valve actuator next Saturday; to see if he can manually just lock it open vs wasting 800 buck with the RT one. I did this mod with my 992 GTS which has the same rpm neutering and it really made a nice difference.

I did find this on YT--- videos never do exhausts justice though-

hmmmmmmmmmmmmm not sure what I want to do here and still no one can 100 percent verify if there is a resonator or not?

Please dooooooooooooooooooooo
When I lowered my car it was on a rack but all those covers were on and I was in rush to go...
Thx for reporting back on this Vic!!

Yes your engine is the same so no res for you too-- sucks

I just dont know.
Thanks!

Thanks!
Those are just flex pipes, they are thru and thru so it would not help at all.
The front ones are the cats and that will trigger a CEL for sure...

Anyways he looked over the rear oem section (mufflers) and said he could create a "Y" design where the valves would remain so I said why not.
What he did was replace the muffler with Y section using a wider inner pipe (no valve) than oem and then split the Y to valve side. How does it sound? MORE of the same great throaty V8 rumble with pops and bangs that are more accentuated. The best way to describe the car is its the same tone but with maybe 25% more decibels or volume UP
Its a simple and reversable process too. I still cant get the valves to open fully pre higher rpms (3500 to 4k) as thats a program with the CAN but a VC will fix that. But for the price (350) its worth it to me 100%. I dont think the Renntech mufflers would that much of a gain if this gets me about 25% more with no muffler. Oh no CEL.Powerwise, zero change in feel although the more free flow could have a tiny gain = negligible at best IMHO. But I didnt do it for that.
AFTER (Valved section is outer) The set up is more of a straight back direction vs the OEM muffler which passes out the side and then back.
