Wrong forum...
I mean how cheap do you really want to go on brakes and rotors? What price difference are you looking at when compared to buying OEM on-line?

i have seen some go for 285 for front brakes and rotors. I just don’t know if there’s a specific brand that is better than what is at AutoZone in O’Reilly. OEM is around 350

So let me get this straight: you're trying to save $65.... Maybe your problem is not the brakes..... its the car...

Agree on the Powerstop, you can get a whole set of 4 rotors and ceramic pads for under 1K $. They hold up really well too.

I put Powerstop drilled and slotted rotors on my GL450 and they look great and have performed beautifully. I also put some high dollar ceramic pads on and they squealed like mad. Did everything I could think of to silence them. Changed over to Auto Zone’s best pads and they’ve performed perfectly. OEM rotors on that GL were soft as hell and were worn at 45k.
I don’t regret not using OEM stuff at all.

I'll let you ponder the degree of overlap between brands serving the 214 and his vehicle and whether a quality brand serving one year is or is not a quality brand serving another.

Instead of reflexively pointing out like the JV forum police as you did

I mean I actually asked a legit question and implied the sheer absurdity of trying to save $60 on brake pads and rotors on an E-class Mercedes, after pointing out that this in fact is the wrong forum for their vehicle.

Unlike you, who tried to continuously defend that this is indeed the right place to ask the question, or at least not the wrong place while provided absolutely zero value to the actual question at hand.

I'll let you decide which of us is more of a d!ck....

I've become a big fan of Dynamic Friction after it becoming very difficult to get later model Akebono product. RockAuto lists $220 complete front / $115 complete rear, (pads/rotors, sensors, and hardware)

I don’t have personal experience with their rotors, but a couple of folks have installed them on their W222 S-classes, and were happy. PowerStop’s Z23 pads are on my car, and I’m pleased with them.
