Tint on 2026 GLE - What is Rear VLT?
Looking to add ceramic over existing privacy tint in back and trying to figure out where I'd end up based on the VLT of the film I use. I assume 2026s have similar tint % to this gen, but can anyone confirm that?

Great idea on going to an installer. Gemini says the privacy glass on a '26 GLE is approximately 18%-22% so 20% would probably be a good match although this should be verified.

Agreed the installed can do it. I just told mine to make it match.
I did a quick check. I know some manufacturers put the level on the glass. My Bronco has it printed right on the label of each window. I checked our GLE. If it's there, it's in some cryptic code.

Florida is 28% for the front side windows and tint on the windshield has to be above the AS 1 line. 3 points if you are stopped. Police really don't care for the dark front side window tints that they cannot see through.

I was guessing 15 but it's actually closer to 12. Any darker for most people is going to start causing problems driving at night. I would just put whatever the laws allow on the front, 35 in TX. I had the windshield on my M5 tinted and hated it. I used to own a glass tinting business and don't care how good the installer is there will be a few specks of dust or dirt caught and minor distortions from stretching the film to the curve of the glass. May not bother most people but isn't for me.
