Oil Change

Has anyone performed an oil change on their 2026 GLC 300? It looks pretty straightforward, but I do not see a dipstick, so I assume it is electronic and you have to use a scan tool to check levels?

Check the level in the ASSYST PLUS screen after pressing the home button and scrolling to service.

Alternatively go to this menu: https://mbworld.org/forums/glc-class...dden-menu.html

Since you want to reset the service interval anyways, plus it has a more precise amount displayed instead of the vague one in the regular ASSYST PLUS.

You need the menu to measure the oil. After you change the filter and oil, it will ask if the oil has been filled. Leave it running for at least 10 minutes it will measure the oil and tell you how many liters to top off or drain.
You also need to use the menu to reset the service reminder. After confirming it will say full service carried out. Do not press the confirm service over and over again. The service message will disappear at the next start.

I have done several on our GLC 300. Oil plug is plastic and it is recommended to replace with new each oil change, filter is easy. Removing the protective cover to get to the oil plug is not too bad. Reset is easy and you can find the procedure on line.

Yes, I agree with the plug but find it crazy price - I believe it is 26.00...about twice as much as the filter

It might be because it is "superplastic" Just kidding : ) but not really kidding in a sense.

If you have an MB dealer, they should have a parts department. I think I picked mine up for $10.

Is it this part number? Buying it online does seem to be expensive, save the trip to the dealership though (assuming shipping isn't too expensive):

I had a hard time finding the part number for the filter, screw, and ring so I asked the man at the parts counter. He was able to get me everything for like 35ish I believe. It was all OEM parts and way cheaper than listed anywhere online. I also used the Kirkland 0-20 full synthetic oil (may be controversial as it doesn't fit MB's own standard and other reasons) but am supper happy with it!

I'm due for another oil change in August so I'll report back!

I bought my CPO car with 10K miles on it. Dealer changed oil then. I'm doing the next oil change at 15,000 miles, so I won't be changing/updating the Assyst Plus menu. I'll just keep my own service log and parts receipt from FCP. They charged about $10.00 for the drain plug (total kit came to $99.00)
