SL/R129: Wandering suspension

Wandering suspension
My 97 SL 600's suspension has a mind of its own. The front end is bouncy and goes up and down even when at a complete stop. Does anyone have any idea what may be causing this?

Something wrong with your ADS (Active Dampening System) computer?
I have heard the R129 SL 600 had that system. An early version of the current Active Body Control system on the R230.
But I do not know this for certain.

Thanks Chris. I agree that it is probably either a computer or sensor problem. I'll probably have to take it to a dealer to diagnose ($$$$). I apreciate your response, though. Funny, I also own a late model Grand Cherokee and my SL has a pano top, but it's black on black. Thanks again.

I got an owner's manual off E-Bay today and learned that if the battery dies (which it did), the ADS system will malfunction until you turn the steering wheel all the way left and then all the way right to reset it. Wouldn't it be something if that was all it takes to fix the problem. I'll try it an test drive
