Performance Upgrades
I am thinking about 2 performance mods for my '92 500 SL and wanted to know if anyone has an opinion.
First, are performance air filters. I have previously used K&N on my 1990 XJS V-12 with no problems and I perceived a real gain in air flow. I had read on another thread that someone attributed a MAP sensor failure to the use of K&Ns, and since those don't come cheap I'm a little afraid of that. Anyone else use them on an SL without incident? Do they make a difference?
Second, I see a chip on EBAY (a real chip, not a resistor). It replaces the original ECU. Anyone use one of these on a mechanically injected 500 SL?

Try superchips in the UK...I had it in my SL for 2 years with no probs whatsoever.....K&N's are fine...but crazy noise from air intake...
