The immobiliser!
Hi, my 1993 500sl had an immobiliser/alarm system retro-fitted in 1997 (types 901 and 918). I acquired the car in 2005 and apart from the original fitting bill,I have not got any instructions for it. Basically, I am in the process of importing the car from the UK to Australia, and the boys in customs here have managed to confuse the system comprehensively, and now the battery is flat and being recharged overnight ready for another go today! We have tried to synchronise the door and boot locks to correspond with the remote button, but it's not having any of it and the immobiliser refuses to release everything.The previous owner is not answering his phone, so, does anyone out there know how to disable the immobiliser system without the use of a sledgehammer, and does the circular serrated key on my key ring have any part to play in it, and if so, where does it fit?
