SL/R129: SL600(R129) with SL55(R230) wheels
Hmm... might be the angle of the driveway.
Just had it in for service and everything was okay. As particular as I am, my dealership is even moreso and tends to notice things that I don't see. But, next time it is in I will ask if the front is too high.
I'll take some measurements to see if there is a difference in height from ront to back. But, looking at it on flat ground, everythign looks normal.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I'll definatley investigate.
I wonder why MB couldn't use something more special or distinctive for such a flagship product as the R230 SL AMG.
The original AMG monoblocks are some of the best-looking wheels for the R129, IMO.
No offence intented, just mho!

But, I always felt that the AMG monoblocks were too sporty for the R129, as I do not believe that the R129 looks sporty--especially without the ports package. The triangular spoke patterns work well with the car's hard-edge, wedge-like characteristics. Again, you really need to see it in person.
I also agree that on the R230 these wheels look terrible. Sporty car with multi-spoked wheels just doesn't work. If I hadn't seen another R129 with these wheels I would have never done this. But when I saw it, it just sort of struck me--like I said, appeal and taste is subjective--beauty is in the eye of the beholder, etc...
Reagrding the offsets, I corrected for this problem with H&K spacers. Without the spacers the car looked utterly bizarre.
One great result of the R230 wheels and OEM tires is the handling. On the R129, I have had just about every performnace tire known to man installed. Theses wide wheels and incredible Pirelli Rosso tires are incredible. I never knew that my R129 could handle so well. This is the first time that it actually handled like a sports car.
