Highly impractical. Try opening the doors in your garage. Or in a parking lot next to another car. HOWEVER, I recently saw on a website some place, I can't remember, either an R129 or R230 with Lambo style doors -- those might work better.

...looks good, but you cant take the roof off in the summer with this surely? I'd rather have no roof than gull wings doors any day.

There's a company in Germany that makes a structure to suport the door in lambo style. Check it at http://www.mastertuning.net/The pic is from the web site and not my car. Does any one had this kit installed?
