Just purchased a red 2000 SL500
I just purchased a red 2000 SL500? I have a question or two.
1) What color should the hardtop be on a red car? The dealer says mine is black, does that sound correct?
2) Is there a good way to get the original window sticker from MB?

errr.
the hard top should be red. the SOFT top is eather black or brownish.
and im not to shure about the window sticker

'87 W124, '95 R129, '04 G35
Your dealer is full of it!! The hard top comes with ALL R129 and is the same color of your car. I think your dealer is pulling a fast one on you. The bad part of a hard top from a different car is the seal. The rubber will not seal tight and thus wind noise and water leak.

The hardtop should be red. Mark, although you are not the only redmongoose out there, take pride in knowing you were the "first" red MONGOOSE. I have never heard anyone else refer to their car as a mongoose...lol
