Does anyone know what the color of the softtop would be on a 99 SL500.
Exterior black, interior gray.

most likely it's black.........but take the hardtop off just to make sure......

It's likely to be black. You can tell from the datacard (found on the inside rear cover of the service record). Code 740 is black (744 is blue and 746 is brown, I don't know the others). If If you pop the vin into this site, you will get a list of the spec an doptions for the vehicle:
