37 Years Old and Starting 2008 Off Right
Hello all,
Just purchased a 1995 SL600 with 69k miles. I had intentions of reselling her, however, I must admit, I've already fallen in love with her. Going to be replacing the hood pad and power antenna mast and that's about it. She's beautiful and gets lots of looks. This car is a fun to drive and I look forward to many more years of automotive bliss.

I'm a 26 year old software engineer (will be 27 in a few days).
I just impulse bought a 2001 SL500 last Sunday after taking a drive in it. I've only had it for a few days, but I'm already thinking about selling my daily driver (2006 Nissan Altima). The SL500 has 60k miles and is triple black with AMG sport package. Will post pictures in the picture thread

Taking into account the spirit of the quote in your signature sir, I would say why not? Nothing like that aggressive roar coming out of four chromed tailpipes on a top down night drive.

SL500
I'm 20
20 years old - bought my 91 SL on impulse from eBay ($6500) - and it turned out to be the dream car that I never knew I wanted.
Its got 165,000 miles on it, and since I bought it with a new trans., its only had some minor problems.

Hey ChrisB, I started the original 'what's your age' post, and it's great to see this upgraded version - and especially the number of converts and new owners who love this model!
I'm now 59 and after 4 years ownership still enjoy my triple black 93 SL500 with 68k miles (110,000km in my country). Back then I converted it with original AMG body parts and 18"wheels, and it has a wood steering wheel that looks nice.
A few months ago I thought of selling it, since I mainly drive my 2000 Lexus SUV and the SL500 gets out only once every few weeks, but the gorgeous shape and the build quality keeps pulling me back.
It still gets positive comments from the forecourt attendants (about the only time I stop anywhere :-), and it helps that it is absolutely immaculate from top to toe.

97 SL600
Hello-
I am new here & also just recently joined the ranks of Mercedes ownership. I picked up a 97 SL600 Blk/Blk w/ pano top & 45,000 well maintained miles on it. I was told the car had not been driven in the rain until I did the other day. I live in Vancouver Washington so if I wait for it to quit raining before I drive it then for about 7 months out of the year it will hardly ever get driven . Sorry about rambling on, but I enjoy every thing about this car, including talking about it. Also I am 42.
Anyhow, I look forward to becoming a part of this blog & thank you for letting me do so.

now 66, owner of various Benz models since 1962. My expectation is several more years and vehicles before the progeny will have the obligation to recycle.

According to the little head, I'm 18. According to the big head, I'm 118. But according to my driver's license, I'm 58. So its' anyone's guess which one is right.

I was told that an older guy driving a Corvette is having a mid life crises.
An older guy driving a 129 is simply successful.

I have not visited the forum much lately.
Looked up an old post of mine.
I see everyone is 8 years older than the last comment on SL owners age.
Still enjoying your R129??
We are.
I just turned 58 and we have had ours for almost 12 years now. She has 192,000 Km (115,000 Miles) on her and no major problems.
Will soon be heading south (California / Arizona) for the winter. Another 7,800 Km (4,600 Miles) road trip to escape the rain of Canada's west coast.
