There was a great thread a year or so ago about head lights and replacement bulbs and so forth. Do a search on this forum on headlights or bulbs.

From the dealership, the xenon head lights (not just the bulbs), they are about $200 USA each. I think you need the entire lamp assembly, not just bulbs.

As far as the AMG 95 front bumper, if it is for a 1995 SL 500 and that is what you have, how could it not fit? I am replacing mine on my 2001 SL 500 -- getting an estimate tomorrow (big piece of truck tire hit it on the freeway -- it is cracked in half -- OUCH!).

I will post the cost here -- but of course that is Los Angeles California costs. I don't know where you are.

Joe,

I will be interested in the p/n's and pricing of each piece you replace. Please let me know what the p/n's and prices are for the bumper "reinforcements". They are different from those of the standard bumper.

Here is some information from my prior research.

AMG Sport Front Bumper
OEM PART # WA129-885-0225
don't forget the wire mesh in the center.

AMG Sport Bumper Tow Hook Covers p/n's are
WA129-880-0405 passenger side
WA129-880-0305 driver side
unpainted with wire mesh.

License Plate Bracket
WA129-885-0381

They didn't give me the part numbers on the invoice. The bumper cover was $1370; the side wire mesh screens where $55 each. Fog Lamp Assembly was $184. Did not need the license plate bracket -- I guess the old one was fine.

You forgot the CENTER wire mesh -- that is $147.

There is are also two little inserts that kind of hold the wire mesh in -- you can buy them separate from the dealer for a couple of hundred each. But apparently they are included with the bumper cover assembly, because at least one of mine was missing, it has been replaced, and there is not a separate line item for those.

That's a reasonable price for the bumper. I have seen $1700.00.

Are you happy with the outcome? Any concerns?

Now stay away from parking lot concrete slabs w/ the rebar sticking up just enough to catch and damage the AMG bumper!

They did a nice job with the painting. They had some trouble getting the gaps closed between the over and the upper body near the wheel wells. After I asked them to try to fix it, they spent about 1/2 on the driver's side which looks much better.

The passenger side they will try when they put the "SL" fender emblem back on.

ha ha ha -- apparently I have some kind of pre-Silver Arrow/Silver Arrow edition (it has cross-drilled rotors/silver instead of wood interior trim/machine alumium dash board panel and a silver/gray top, for example) that has an emblem for which they only made 20 cars -- so, the body shop guy ordered three different types of emblems and none matched. He told me he called the factory in Germany and was told only 20 were made and that they need to ship the part from Germany.

Anybody ever seen one? It has "SL" with a checkered flag on either side.

I've never seen it on any other car --

Joe,

Are you telling me that you have 1 of 20 of the "Formula One Edition" and did'nt know it.

"To Commemorate the return of Formula One Racing to this country Mercedes-Benz issued 20 Examples of this special SL500R"

Take a look at this site and see if this car looks like yours.

WOW!! YES I have it, but I didn't know it.

Thanks dude. That is IT -- Except mine has the AMG wheels with thinner spokes.

Wow, I really appreciate you telling me this -- I have posted on this board at least 3 times asking if anyone knew what it was. But until now, no answer.

I am so jazzed about finding this out. THANKS!
