My '01 SL is due for it's last dealer check before the extended warranty runs out the end of January. I currently have 12,500 miles on the odometer and have some friends in the service dept. However, they say I need to present him with a list of things that I have concerns about. They can't just go through the car cart blanche.
I really don't have any glaring problems at the moment but I would appreciate any imput from you guys regarding potential inherent problems I should include on the list.
This is my last hurrah as a freebie and I don't want to waste the opportunity. Thanks in advance.

Wow -- I think I am in the same boat soon. I need to check. My 2001 has a 7 year/100,000 Star Mark running out in several months. and then another after-market warrenty that will probably be hell to collect from before it runs out in 3 years. Originally Posted by crb49

Tell them the engine has started sounding loader lately -- maybe you can get them to check the compression on the cylinders to see if it is all good. Maybe also tell them that you think it is burning or leaking oil.
And that occasionally, the oil temp light comes on.
ha ha ha. That should keep them busy for a while.
Okay, just joking around. If you really have no problems, what can you do? Maybe hire an independent to give it an inspection?

Nope. But I remember when you changed them out a few months ago.Originally Posted by RedMongoosE

Actually, you reminded me that I have a very good independent who takes care of my 380 and I need to call him. I'm sure he'd give me a laundry list for the check up. (Why didn't I think of that???)Originally Posted by mebeJOE
