SL/R129: help top

help top
Hello
I drive a 1994 sl600. The battery went dead on my car from not driving it for a few months and then I had to jump start it. Now I have the asr light on aswell as the abs light. The suspension light as well intermitently. To boot now my top does not operate. The top moves when I push the top toggle in the downward position. when I pull the toggle back there is no movement. The fluid is fine and the roll bar works fine as well. any help would be highly appreciated. Also it is time for brakes on my sl. Any recomendations on pads or rotors. cross drilled? also a mechanic would be nice one that does cost a arm and a leg in the area of california besides the dealer.

From experience, the warning lights (ABS and ASR) usually followed by jump start because of low battery.
Try replacing the battery (Or fully charged the battery). That should ususally fix the problem.
If the light is still on, then check the alternator.

I would check the fuses in the Base Module (picture) that supplies power to the ABS/ASR module. If those are good, I would suggest reading diagnostic codes for the system with an LED from Radio Shack or an automotive test light.
The soft top problem may go away after you fix the ABS and ASR problem and drive the car a short distance. If not, then I would read codes on that control system as well.

thank you so much mr. You made my week and month even. You picture and information was a life saver. My car now drives like the black beauty it is. My top works fine as well as the lightsare off.
