SL/R129: Odometer counter doesn`t work

Odometer counter doesn`t work
Hello all
On my SL300-24 `92m.y. doesn`t works odometer and day counter.(mechanical)
The speed arrow works correctly .
I check speedometer mechanizm separately , counters works correctly, but if speedometer has installed in instrument cluster, odometer and day counter doesn`t work.
As i know , a problem will be in main plate of instrument cluster.
In our city no services, who`s a repair a cluster plate , and i decided replace my instrument cluster on used cluster(for example ,from W140)
Please ,tell me, from what models W140 and what years of release I will accept the instrument cluster and whether it will be correct to work? One my friend has told that the mechanism of a roof will not work. Whether so it?
