My new ride!!!!
Well I have jumped into the deep end and might i say so far the water is FINE. I am now the proud owner of a 1996 SL500.
Thanks to the guys who gave me feedback about this car, the final word shook out like this. The guy who owned it was in a money crunch and needed a chunk of cash quick. He bought this car new in 1997, has ALL the service records and he just finished the 60K service and a new brake job ($1400). The carfax is clean, it has 63K miles and comes with Momo aftermarket wheels (he also gave me the MB wheels that he took off). The car has been garaged all it's life and it really shows. The interior is not flawless, but it is VERY close. I ended up paying $10,500. I drove it around yesterday with the top down, and I AM HOOKED!!!! Man this thing is like crack, i didn't want to get out of the car!

Thanks fellas! I don't have any plans on changing out the rims just yet, i realize they are not what a purist would have but they came with the car and i'll keep it as is for now.
