SL/R129: 1991 300sl Drivers Seat Motor

1991 300sl Drivers Seat Motor
My driver's seat will not move. If it does it is stuck in the last position and my husband takes bottom part of seat off, and manually moves the right side of the motor gear. He has taken seat out and their is nothing biding or on the channel.
Any suggestions on what to do or where I can locate a part, besides the dealer. They want $386.00 and call the part seat gearing.
