SL/R129: Front parking lamps

Front parking lamps
Hi,
Was checking my car over 1991 500SL and noticed the front parking lamps were loose. Upon closer inspection I noticed some spring clips laying beside them in the engine compartment. But I am unsure how to make them work to hold the assembly in place. Seems like a rubix cube???? Any suggestions from anyone as to how these are to be held in place? I'm mechanicly inclined but this has me confused.
