I was wondering what I should expect to pay in terms of installation fees from a mechanic. I was quoted $800 a few days ago from a shop in San Francisco. I've lowered cars in the past and they usually charge $100-300 for the install. I realize the r129 is a big car but still, $800 seems really expensive. Any suggestions? Thanks.

My total bill for my 94 SL 320 came to

Bilstein shocks B4 B6, HR springs, Tower mounts, All 10 rear links, Snubbers, Buffers, Labor and alignment was $1600.

H&R R129 Springs 60853 vs 29853

Need some help regarding H&R springs for my 2002 R129. Looking on ebay there are 2 different part #'s for H&R lowering springs 60853 and 29853. 29853 is only available on H&R website. Ebay has both 60853 vs 29853, but 60853 comes from Europe. What is the difference between the 60853 vs 29853 lowering springs? and which one would be the correct fit or will both of them fit?

Thanks for the info! I had another question regarding the roll bar sensor axle switches when lowering a R129. I been reading up on some Q&A on this forum about the 95 and below having the axles switches only. I have a 2002 SL500. Does my car have those switches or none? If none, is there a different way to adjust them or no need to? Help me please?

No switches to adjust. No worries...... only on the very early 129 years. I think it was '90-'93.

I am getting ready to buy FRONT SHIMS AND REAR BUFFERS. In THREAD #13 and it mentions #1 Front and #3 Rear

Front #1 shim (2 each) p/n 2013210984
Rear #3 buffer (2 each) p/n 2013251044

The Front#1 shim part # is correct, but I was checking part # for #3 Rear Buffer and it is listed as 2013251144 instead of 2013251044 as stated in THREAD #13. 2013251044 is for a #2 Rear Buffer.

Rear "Buffer #10 p/n's
2013250944 ( 8 MM) $4.90 each #1
2013251044 (13 MM) $6.75 each #2
2013251144 (18 MM) $7.50 each #3

Can I please get some help on which # Rear Buffer is the correct SIZE and PART # that is needed?

Thanks

I made a mistake with the #3 p/n and it should read
2013250944 ( 8 MM) #1
2013251044 (13 MM) #2
2013251144 (18 MM) #3

Can someone help me with Adjustable Rear Camber Arms for my 2002 R129 SL500. I found 3 types for sale, but not sure which one would be best steel or hollow alloy? and which end joints would be best? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
