I am trying to find out how to remove the shifter knob from my 2000 SL500 and also want to know the thread size of the shaft. I found an aftermarket shift knob from a MB that has an insert that says 10mm on it and want to find out if it will work and how to remove my old one. I tryed to twist it off and it didn't seem to move.
