1991 500SL gearbox change
Hi I am a new chap on the block and need some assistance.
I have upgraded the engine of my car (Lucy) by having the cylinder heads gas flowed,the cams have been reprofile,a new free flow exhaust and new branch manifolds fitted.The power output is now 287kw and th eTorque 500nm.
I want to change the gearbox to a 5 or 6 speed manual.Has anyone doen this and if so please can you advise the way to go.

Hi Chicky,
Thanks for the information.The reason for the manual gearbox mod is that I think one has better control on drive and gearchange.Currently the gear change is very erratic.
I will be posting some pics of "Lucy" soon .
