1996 HARDTOP REMOVED MANUALLY WITH SPECIAL TOOL
Does any one know how to remove the hard top maually? The red light is fashing and the top will not disengage. The roll bar works. I have the special tool that comes with the tool kit provided at the time of purchase. i was able to locate where you use the toll to disengage the hardtop from the windshield, but don't know where to disengage it from the back. Can anyone help me?

make sure your in park engine not running ignition in position2.It takes a few seconds before any thing happens.Made these mistakes myself.Embarassing when the big day comes to say it is now spring,every one standing around and the top wont release.Turn the car off.These instructions are in the owners manual.If you dont hae (Sottish for have or a typo) one good idea to get one

there is a [soft top module] a computer behind the pasenger seat in the compartment where your first aid and owers manuel pull the plastic out and its right there two nuts tons of wires Mercedes wants $2,290.00 there is a place in NH IM thinking its dda or ADD they rebuild them for 375 dollars im having trouble right now with mine also but my lights are lit up and nothing works rollbar or hard top. this what im thinking my problem is you can disconect your battery just undu your ground let sit for hour then reconect the ground you have to read your owers manuel on resetting windows and your code for the radio to work.
